I’m Mackenzie
Hey,
I’m the woman behind the camera here, born and raised in South Florida, currently residing in Denver, Colorado. I grew up in a home where photography was part of the rhythm of life. My parents loved film, they brought cameras on every road trip, and we’d do spontaneous photoshoots at home with a chest full of costumes, wigs, and props. My mom always had a black-and-white disposable in her bag, especially on beach days, and we’d take portraits of each other by the sea. I still have shoeboxes full of those prints in storage that I look through often — reminders of the magic in ordinary moments, the joy of childhood, and all those awkward stages of growing up.
That early love grew into something more when I was accepted into a three-year photography program in high school. I started out doing creative shoots with friends to explore composition, lines, and light — and by my second year, I was working alongside my teacher photographing sports games, pep rallies, and yearbook spreads.
That experience taught me how to work on a timeline, adapt spontaneously, and perform under pressure — getting the shot that was needed for print. It was when I started to sharpen my technical skills- learning to handle different lenses, adjust camera settings quickly, and approach photography with a different kind of focus and intention.
In college, I interned at vintage stores creating styled look books and weekly content, which sparked a deeper love for editorial work. I have worked in visual merchandising for retail brands — refining my eye for detail, styling, and color.
After college, I followed a pull toward the mountains and made my way West in search of something new. That journey unexpectedly brought me back to photography — this time as a career a.
Being a part of so many weddings has shaped me into someone with a bigger heart and a deeper appreciation for love in all its expressions.
When I’m not behind the lens, I’m probably teaching yoga, soaking up sunshine, cooking up some kind of Buddha bowl. I’ve always had a lot of passions — I’m a mover, a shifter, a drifter at heart. I love to exercise, explore, and learn. Whether I’m diving into a new creative project or wandering through a new city with no set plan, I’m eternally curious and always chasing what lights me up.
